Are you evaluating a patient who presents with signs and symptoms suggestive of sepsis?

Have repeated workups with blood cultures been negative?

Yes

Has the possibility of Munchausen Syndrome been considered?

Yes

Does the patient avoid one or more activities since these will make the patient feel sick?

Yes

Does the patient become bacteremic if a certain activity is performed?

Yes

Does the patient have a foreign body or localized abscess that is compressed by certain activities?

Yes

Purpose: To evaluate a patient for situational sepsis (sepsis provoked by a manipulation or activity).
