Baik et al listed a rating system for impairment caused by an esophageal disorder. The authors are from Yonsei University, Seoul National University, Bundang Jesaeng General Hospital and other institutions in South Korea.
Patient selection - an esophageal disorder associated with:
(1) symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dysphagia and/or odynophagia
(2) significant damage to the esophagus found on endoscopy, esophageal manometry and/or imaging studies
