Criteria for Sjogren's Syndrome - both of the following
(1) keratoconjunctivitis
(2) xerostomia
Criteria for keratoconjunctivitis - 3 or 4 of the following:
(1) Schirmer test < 10 mm in 5 minutes
(2) tear fluid break-up time < 30 seconds
(3) positive Rose Bengal staining (in other classification groups this is >= 2+)
(4) filamentary keratitis on biomicroscopic examination of the cornea
Criteria for xerostomia - both of the following:
(1) one or both of the following:
(1a) sialometry with < 0.1 mL per minute for resting secretion
(1b) sialometry with < 0.7 mL per minute for stimulated secretion
(2) labial salivary gland biopsy with 2 or more foci (>= 50 lymphocytes and monocytes) in 4 square mm of glandular tissue
