The Periengraftment Respiratory Distress Syndrome (PERDS) is a form of acute lung injury that occurs shortly after a stem cell transplantation (SCT).
Patient affected: most often seen after an autologous transplant
Onset: within 5 to 7 days after the SCT
Clinical features:
(1) fever
(2) dyspnea
(3) hypoxemia
Imaging findings: bilateral interstitial infiltrates
