Purpose: To evaluate the prognosis for a patient with AIDS and a primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) based on the findings of Boulanger et al.

Description

Boulanger et al identified prognostic factors for patients with AIDS who develop primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) associated with Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8, Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, KSHV). These can help identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from multiple hospitals in Paris, Saint-Mande and Ajaccio in France.
