Federico et al reported the Follicular Lymphoma International Prognostic Index 2 (FLIPI2). This help determine the prognosis for a patient with a follicular lymphoma. It was developed members of the the International Follicular Lymphoma Prognostic Factor Project.
Patient selection: newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma
Parameters:
(1) age of the patient in years
(2) maximum diameter of the largest affected lymph node in cm
(3) serum beta-2 microglobulin level
(4) hemoglobin
(5) bone marrow involvement

where:
• The original FLIPI shares age and hemoglobin with FLIPI2.
• The original FLIPI used serum LDH, Ann Arbor stage and number of involved sites.
FLIP2 score =
= SUM(points for the 5 parameters)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 5
• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
