The World Health Organization (WHO) performance scale for HIV infection and disease is similar to that for cancer.
Differences:
(1) cancer scale value = (HIV scale value) - 1.
(2) The cancer scale has its highest score for patients who are totally disabled and cannot perform any self-care activities.
