Indications for Referring Burn Victim to Burn Treatment Center

Age of the patient

Percent of body surface area with full thickness (third degree) burn (enter from 0 to 100)

Percent of body surface area with other burn severities (enter from 0 to 100)

• involve a special area (face, hands, feet, perineum, genitalia, major joint)?

• involve the entire circumference of the chest or limb?

• have inhalation injury?

• have or more significant comorbid conditions?

• suffer the burn while attempting self-harm?

• suffer the burn during an assault?

• have associated trauma?

Is this an electrical or chemical burn?
