The Fatigue Severity Scale can be used to assess the level of fatigue in patients and to monitor its change over time or in response to therapeutic interventions.


The instrument consists of 9 statements about the impact of the person's fatigue.

• The higher the total score, the greater the fatigue impact.

• The authors found the scale consistent and reliable in the patient populations studied.
