Purpose: To classify the severity of a patient's psoriatic arthritis based on its impact on the patient's life and therapeutic requirements.

Description

A Working Group of the American Academy of Dermatology classified the severity of psoriatic arthritis based on its clinical impact and therapeutic requirements.

disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) or tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker; does not respond to NSAIDS

DMARDs AND (TNF blockers or other biologic therapies); does not respond to monotherapy

unable to perform activities of daily living; significant impairment of mental and/or physical function
