Description

A patient with malignant lymphoma who has been treated with I-131 labeled tositumomab needs to observe certain precautions to protect others. A patient able to meet these criteria can be treated as an outpatient in many states.


 

Precautions:

(1) remain > 9 feet away from others, including at work

(2) maintain sole bathroom use

(3) avoid contact with children

(4) avoid contact with pregnant women

(5) refrain from travel on airline or mass transit

(6) refrain from automobile travel with others for periods lasting > 6 hours
