Evaluation

Are you evaluating a patient for dengue?

Has the person lived in or traveled to an area endemic for dengue?

Does the patient have?

• fever (temperature >= 38°C or history of fever lasting 2-7 days)?

• nausea and/or vomiting?

• rash?

• aches and pains?

• tourniquet test positive?

• leukepenia?

• abdominal pain or tenderness?

• persistent vomiting?

• clinical fluid accumulation?

• mucosal bleeding?

• lethargy or restlessness?

• hepatomegaly > 2 cm ?

• increase in hematocrit (hemoconcentration)?

• sudden decrease in platelet count to below 100,000 per µL ?

Is there another diagnoses that can explain the findings better?
