Purpose: To identify the risk of bleeding during anticoagulant therapy for venous thromboembolism using the risk score of Kuijer et al.

Description

Kuijer et al developed an equation to identify the risk for bleeding while receiving anticoagulant therapy for venous thromboembolism. All of the data for the equation is available prior to initiation of therapy. The study was done at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Interpretation:
