Oxaliplatin can cause damage to peripheral nerves. The Oxaloplatin-Specific Neurotoxic Scale (OSNS) can be used to grade peripheral neuropathy.
Parameters:
(1) duration of dysestheia and/or paresthesia relative to therapeutic cycles
(2) functional impairment (disability)

• The duration of persistent injury might vary. A case with Grade 3 injury could be prolonged.
• The severity of the functional impairment is not given and is presumed to be moderate to severe.
Purpose: To evaluate a patient with peripheral neurotoxicity associated with oxaliplatin therapy using the OSNS grading scheme.
