Description

Daniels et al evaluated the prognostic factors for low-grade glioma reported by Pignatti et al. Their analysis shared some of these factors but introduced others. The authors are from the Mayo Clinic, Meritcare Hospital (Fargo), Emory University, Rush University, University of Virginia and Wake Forest University.

Patient select: adult with low-grade glioma

Prognostic factors:

(1) histologic type

(2) tumor diameter

(3) mini mental status exam (MMSE)

Histologic Type

Tumor Diameter

Risk Group

oligodendroglioma or mixed

< 6 cm

low risk

oligodendroglioma or mixed

>= 6 cm

intermediate

astrocytoma

< 6 cm

intermediate risk

astrocytoma

>= 6 cm

high risk
