The World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES) reported a classification system for pelvic trauma.

(1) Young-Burgees classification of pelvic fracture

(2) hemodynamic status

(3) mechanical stability

APC 2, APC 3, LC 2, LC 3	unstable	stable	II (moderate)
VS, CM	unstable	stable	III (moderate)

where:

• APC = anterior-posterior compression

• LC = lateral compression

• VS = vertical shear

• CM = combined mechanism
