Description

The World Heart Federation (WHF) reported criteria for the echocardiographic diagnosis of rheumatic heart disease in pediatric patients. The final diagnosis depends on the findings seen in the mitral and aortic valve.


Patient selection: age <= 20 years of age

 

Parameters:

(1) pathologic mitral regurgitation (PMR)

(2) pathologic mitral stenosis (PMS)

(3) morphologic changes in the mitral valve (MMV)

(4) pathologic mitral regurgitation (PAR)

(5) morphologic changes in the aortic valve (MAV)
