Description

The Webb and Rivera (WAR) score can be used to evaluate a patient prior to Mohs surgery. The authors are from Northeast Regional Medical Center (Kirksville, Missouri) and Tennessee River Dermatology (Florence, Alabama).


Parameters:

(1) greatest diameter of skin lesion in cm

(2) primary vs recurrent tumor

(3) anatomic location

(4) aggressiveness of tumor type

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 6

The higher the score the greater the length of surgery and the number of stages.
