Description

A number of ways may be used to commit fraud in the sale of a product.


Ways that a fraud may be committed when selling a product:

(1) incorrect measurement of weight or volume

(2) corrupting the measurement process ("thumb on the scale")

(3) substitution with or addition of a lower quality material of the same type (low grade olive oil for premium)

(4) addition of inert material to dilute the product or to add weight

(5) addition of an active compound that may mimic the activity of the product

(6) falsified bill

(7) counterfeit or fake product
