Description

Visick developed a simple classification scheme for grading outcome after gastric surgery.


 

GI complaints:

(1) fullness

(2) diarrhea

(3) dumping

(4) malabsorption

(5) gastritis

 

Clinical failure may be determined based on one or more of the following:

(1) disease recurrence (no benefit from surgery)

(2) severe nutritional problems

(3) severe postgastrectomy problems
