Description

Some patients with sarcoidosis will develop uveoparotid fever, also known as Heerfordt Syndrome.


 

Clinical features of uveoparotid fever:

(1) sarcoidosis

(2) may have normal or mildly elevated body temperature

(3) uveitis with or without iridocyclitis

(4) chronic bilateral parotid gland swelling

(5) transient seventh nerve paralysis (Bell's palsy) or other cranial nerve dysfunction
