Beaudreuil et al developed the Unite Rhumatologique des Affections de la Main (URAM) scale to evaluate disability associated with Dupuytren's disease. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Hopital Lariboisiere in Paris and Pfizer.
Patient selection: Dupuytren's disease
Outcome: functional disability associated with the Dupuytren's disease
Measures:
(1) wash self with washcloth keeping the hand flat
(2) wash face
(3) hold a bottle in affected hand
(4) shake someone's hand
(5) stroke something, caress someone
(6) clap hands
(7) spread fingers out
(8) lean on hand
(9) pick up a small object with thumb and index finger
