Description

Jairath et al reported the UC-100 score for patients with ulcerative colitis. The authors are from Robarts Clinical Trials (London, Ontario), University of California San Diego and the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam

Patient selection: ulcerative colitis

Parameters:

(1) Mayo Clinic stool frequency subscore (from 0 to 3)

(2) Mayo Clinic endoscopic subscore (from 0 to 3)

(3) Robarts histopathology index score (from 0 to 33)

score =

= 16 * (stool frequency)) + (6 * (Mayo endoscopy)) + (Robarts histopathology) + 1

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 1

• maximum score: 100

• The higher the score the greater the activity of the ulcerative colitis.

• A score <= 25 is associated with the absence of rectal bleeding.
