A child with a posterior fossa tumor may present with the triad of torticollis, photophobia and epiphora.
Clinical features:
(1) photophobia
(2) torticollis
(3) epiphora (watery eyes)
(4) identification of a tumor in the posterior fossa on imaging studies
Mechanism: associated with internuclear connections between cranial nerves II, V and VII, with triad triggered by bright light
Acquired torticollis in children may also be seen with a cervical spine tumor.
