Description

Employees need to be trained about the contents of a company's Emergency Action Plan (EAP).


Training should be for all employees, including temporary workers.

 

It should be conducted at initial employment, after major changes to the plan or periodically.

 

Training should include:

(1) contents of the plan

(2) information about specific hazards in the workplace

(3) the evacuation plan

(4) assigned responsibilities

(5) relevant PPE

(6) alarms

(7) fire prevention and response

(8) appropriate behavior

 

The plan should be available to employees.

 

Drills should be conducted to reinforce learning.
