Description

Some chemicals release toxic and/or flammable gases when exposed to water.


Gases released may include:

(1) hydrogen chloride, hydrochloric acid (HCl)

(4) hydrogen iodide (HI)

(5) hydrogen sulfide/sulphide  (H2S)

(6) sulfur/sulphur dioxide (SO2)

(7) phosphine (PH3)

(8) chlorine (Cl2)

(9) bromine (Br2)

(10) ammonia (NH3)

(11) nitrogen dioxide (NO2)

(12) hydrogen cyanide (HCN)
