Description

For some drugs the total lifetime exposure may have some clinical significance. This is somewhat analogous to number of pack years of smoking.

NOTE: This is a simplified version assuming constant dosing and perfect compliance without interruption. A realistic version would need to take into account variations that might arise.

Parameters:

(1) number of units in dose (mg or grams)

(2) number of doses per day

(3) number of years of therapy

total lifetime exposure in units =

= (units per dose) * (dose per day) * (365 days) * (number of years)
