The tilted disc syndrome (TDS) is a congenital anomaly that appears is 1-2% of the population (in Japan).
Features of the Tilted Disc Syndrome
(1) an oval optic disc with inferonasal tilting
(2) inferonasal crescent
(3) situs inversus of the retinal vessels
(4) myopic astigmatism
(5) inferior staphyloma
(6) upper temporal or bitemporal visual field depression
(7) retinal pigment epithelium atrophy
Complications may include:
(1) choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
(2) polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV)
(3) serous retinal detachment (SRD)
The complications may be associated with a decline in visual acuity.
