The Thoracic Endometriosis Syndrome (TES) is a rare syndrome with foci of endometriosis within the thorax.
Patient selection: woman during reproductive years
Clinical features:
(1) catamenial pneumothorax
(2) catamenial hemothorax
(3) hemoptysis
(4) variable lung nodules
A key feature for diagnosis is recognition of the correlation between symptoms and menstruation.
The diagnosis requires:
(1) demonstration of endometriosis
(2) exclusion of alternative diagnoses (tuberculosis, neoplasm, etc)
