Nephropathies associated with sickle cell disease or trait:
(1) unilateral hematuria
(2) papillary necrosis
(3) nephrotic syndrome
(4) renal infarction
(5) inability to concentrate urine
(6) pyelonephritis
(7) renal medullary carcinoma
The differential diagnosis of these conditions include conditions not related to sickle cell disease such as nephrolithiasis or diabetic nephrosclerosis.
