Danao et al developed a quality of life instrument for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This was written in both English and Spanish and can be quickly completed. The authors are from UCLA, USC and the University of the Philippines in Manila.

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 8

• maximum score: 80

• The higher the score the better the patient's quality of life.

 

Performance:

• Cronbach alpha coefficient 0.87 to 0.90

• The score correlates with other instruments for arthritis, social support and level of depression.
