The fitness level and maximal oxygen uptake can be estimated in young adult women by the time needed to run 1.5 miles. If the woman has no excess body weight, then a more precise estimate of maximal oxygen uptake can be calculated.
Test Conditions: The original subjects used a 220 yard indoor track (one eighth mile).
