Description

The Striant buccal system administers transmucosal sustained release testosterone from a tablet that adheres to oral mucosa after absorbing oral moisture.


 

Amount of testosterone per application period: 30 mg

 

Site of application: Maxillary gum above the left or right incisor tooth, alternating between the 2 sides.

 

Usual duration left in place: 12 hours, with two doses per day.

Action

12 hours

Place a new tablet above incisor on the opposite side and start a new 12 hour application period.

8.1 - 11.9 hours

Immediately place a new tablet and start a new 12 hour application period.

<= 8 hours

Replace with a new tablet and leave in place for (12 - (number of hours when fell off)) hours, then start a new 12 hour application period.

 

If the tablet becomes adherent to the cheek, then leave it there for the duration of the application period.
