Temporary Worksite Barrier Fencing

Purposes of temporary worksite barrier fencing:

(1) restrict access to authorized persons

(2) control traffic

(3) delimit hazards

(4) reduce theft and vandalism

(5) reduce liability

(6) site for display of warning signs around the perimeter of the worksite

(7) prevent dumping

The usual barrier is chain link fencing.

Requirements to be effective:

(1) made of durable, sturdy materials (ASTM A392-06)

(2) continuous and intact except at designated access points

(3) high enough to be an effective deterrent

(4) access gates can be locked when no workers are present
