Description

Sanders et al graded transfusion-associated acute lung injury (TRALI) using a system modeled after the Common Toxicity Criteria (CTC) for adverse effects of cancer therapy. The authors are from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, University of Tennessee and McMaster University.

Parameters for TRALI severity:

(1) pulmonary symptoms (shortness of breath, etc)

(2) radiographic findings on AP chest X-ray

(3) oxygenation
