Description

The SYNTAX score includes extra points for specific findings that reflect the complexity of coronary artery disease.

Parameters:

(1) stenosis at the aortic ostia (segment 1, segment 5 vs segments 6 and 11 if dual left ostia)

(2) tortuosity

(3) length of the lesion in mm

(4) degree of calcification

(5) thrombus

(6) diffuse disease (small vessels)

(7) if total occlusion (TO) present:

(7a) duration in months

(7b) stump

(7c) bridging

(7d) number of segments before artery visible after the total occlusion

(7e) side branch diameter
