Description

The Standardization of Uveitis Nomenclature (SUN) Working Group reported criteria for the diagnosis of sarcoidosis-associated uveitis.


Criteria for sarcoidosis-associated uveitis - all of the following:

(1) at least one of the following

(1a) anterior uveitis

(1b) intermediate or anterior-intermediate uveitis

(1c) posterior uveitis with choroiditis (paucifocal nodules or multinodular)

(1d) panuveitis with choroiditis, retinal sheathing or retinal vascular occlusion

(2) evidence of sarcoidosis (non-caseating granulomas or bilateral hilar adenopathy)

(3) exclusion of syphilis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis
