The Standardization of Uveitis Nomenclature (SUN) Working Group reported criteria for the diagnosis of non-planitis intermediate uveitis.
Criteria for intermediate uveitis, non-planitis type - all of the following:
(1) intermediate uveitis
(2) absence of retinitis
(3) absence of pars planitis (neither vitreous snowballs nor snowbanks)
(4) negative for multiple sclerosis, syphilis, sarcoidosis, Lyme disease and intraocular lymphoma
Inflammation in the vitreous should be greater than any in the anterior chamber.
