Description

The Standardization of Uveitis Nomenclature (SUN) Working Group reported criteria for the diagnosis of multifocal choroiditis with panuveitis.


Criteria for multifocal choroiditis with panuveitis - all of the following:

(1) multifocal choroiditis with oval or round lesions

(2) predominant lesion > 125 µm in diameter

(3) one or both of the following:

(3a) "punched-out atrophic" chorioretinal scars

(3b) active lesions with more than minimal vitreous inflammation

(4) inflammatory lesions and/or characteristic scars involving the midperiphery or periphery with or without posterior pole involvement

(5) absence of syphilis, sarcoidosis, and tuberculosis
