minor injury

moderate injury

severe but not life-threatening

potentially life-threatening but survival likely
4
critical with uncertain survival
5
unsurvivable injury (maximal possible)

Regions:
(1) general
(2) head and neck
(3) face
(4) chest
(5) abdomen
(6) extremities and pelvis
SAIS =
= SUM(AIS values for all injuries identified)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 500+ (depends on the number and severity of the wounds)
