Wei et al reported the Subtype Distribution Score of Gastric Intestinal Metaplasia (SDSGIM) for evaluating a patient with gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM). The authors are from the Medical School of Southeast University in Naning, China.
Examination: gastric biopsies from gastric antrum and gastric corpus

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 6
• Patients with benign disease usually had SDSGM <= 2, although scores up to 5 can be seen.
• Patients with dysplasia have SDSGM >= 3, with most 4 or 5.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.89.
