The Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment (START) algorithm is used to triage victims at a mass casualty event. It is used to prioritize transport of victims to the hospital.

(1) Can the victim walk?
(2) Is the patient breathing?
(3) Can the patient breath if the airway is opened?
(4) Respiratory rate in breaths per minute
(5) Is there a pulse at the wrist?
(6) Is the patient responsive (level of consciousness)?
