Karadaghy et al reported staging systems for patients with nonmetastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma. The first deals with the functional status of the patient, designated the Functional Severity Staging System (FSSS). The authors are from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and Washington University in St. Louis.
Patient selection: nonmetastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma, >= 18 years of age
