Description

Yueh et al reported a staging system for recurrent, persistent and secondary primary cancers in the oral cavity or oropharynx. The authors are from the University of Washington, Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System, Yale University and Veterans Affairs Connecticut Health Care System.


Patient selection: persistent, recurrent or new cancer in the oral cavity or oropharynx (persistent if evident at site of primary less than 3 months after therapy completed; recurrent if evident at site of primary 3 or more months after therapy completed; second if at a different site)
