Description

A snuff film refers to a macabre genre of movie or video.

Definition: a film or video that shows an actual homicide as intentional part of the production. Sometimes the movie is pornographic. Sometimes the actor or actress is unaware that they will be killed although this has already been made known to the viewer.

Snuff refers to extinguishing a candle, and in slang means to end a life.

No known snuff movie productions are known to exist. Most of the purported snuff films are pretend only. Capturing a murder on film intentionally would be first-degree murder in most countries.
