Description

Kim et al reported the SNACOR score for evaluating a patient undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) of a hepatocellular carcinoma. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive or an alternative therapy. The authors are from Yonsei University and University of Ulsan.

Synonym: SNACOR (size, number, AFP, Child-Pugh, objective response)

Patient selection: transarterial chemoembolization of a hepatocellular carcinoma

Parameters:

(1) tumor size in cm

(2) tumor number

(3) baseline AFP level in ng/mL

(4) Child-Pugh class

(5) objective radiological response

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 10

The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
