Patient selection: primary immunodeficiency with molluscum contagiosum
For these patients the molluscum contagiosum may be severe and persistent.
Immunodeficiencies to consider:
(1) autosomal recessive hyper-IgE syndrome = AR-HIES (DOCK8)
(2) Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS)_
(3) CD40-ligand (CD154) deficiency = X-chromosomal recessive hyper-IgM syndrome = HIGM1 (CD40)
