Reasons for sexual tourism:
(1) ability to engage in behaviors that are forbidden at home (pedophilia, underage sex, etc)
(2) desire to engage in activities that would harm the person's reputation at home or end a marriage (homosexuality, older professional, etc)
(3) thrill and excitement of an exotic place or exotic people
(4) lower cost
(5) feeling unrestrained because of greater tolerance for behaviors
(6) impulse control disorder with hypersexuality
Hazards posed by sexual tourism:
(1) rapid spread of sexually-transmitted diseases around the world, especially drug-resistant strains
(2) rapid spread of other infectious diseases, which may be drug-resistant (like multi-drug resistant tuberculosis)
(3) great difficulty in taking public health measures like followup with contacts
(4) legal problems (if the society is not as accepting as presumed or if illegal activities like using drugs are involved)
(5) risk of being a victim of violence or other crimes
