Description

A male who abuses cocaine is at increased risk for sexual dysfunction.


 

Type of sexual dysfunction:

(1) priapism

(2) erectile dysfunction

 

Risk factors for sexual dysfunction:

(1) sickle cell anemia

(2) chronic liver disease

(3) chronic alcohol or other drug abuse

(4) concurrent use with other drugs that can cause priapism (trazodone) or erectile dysfunction

(5) psychiatric disorders

 

The link to cocaine can be inferred by:

(1) onset temporally related to cocaine use

(2) reversal on discontinuing to use cocaine
