Description

Zawisa et al reported a number of scales for identifying self-neglect in an older adult. The Self-Reported Self-Neglect Scale (SNSRS) lists how often a patient engages in certain behaviors. The authors are from Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland.


Patient selection: >= 65 years or older

 

Parameters - how often does the person refrain from an activity because it is not worth doing?

(1) refrain from eating

(2) refrain from taking care about personal appearance

(3) refrain from cleaning home and washing dishes

(4) refrain from taking treatment despite having symptoms of a disease

(5) refrain from taking a prescribed medication

(6) change the dose or stop taking a medicine without asking prescriber
